The 2013 Humanitarian Award Recipients were:
- Betty Hopkins - Sterile Processing Technician in Central Sterile Supply at Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Hopkins was recognized for going out of of her way to provide care for a child with major health challenges. Her donation of time allows the child's parents to work and support their three children. Hopkins also supports a food bank and sings in her church choir.
- Erica E. Marsh, MD - Reproductive Endocrinologist, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Assistant Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
Marsh co-founded the Northwestern Medicine Scholars Program at Westinghouse College Prep, which offers students a head start on careers in medicine through live surgery broadcasts, mentoring, lectures, tours and other hands-on learning experiences.
- Amy Ross - Operations Manager, Northwestern’s Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute
Ross works with the Glass Slipper Project, which provides prom dresses and accessories for girls in the Chicagoland area who wouldn’t otherwise be able to purchase one for their big event.
